How to use this calculator

Understanding the inputs & results
Bill amount
The pre-tip total on the restaurant bill or invoice.
Tip percentage
The gratuity expressed as a percentage of the bill amount.
Tip amount
Bill × Tip % — the rupee amount added to the bill as a gratuity.
Total amount
Bill + Tip.
Per person share
Total ÷ Number of people — what each person pays if splitting equally.
The formula
Tip and split
Tip = Bill × (Tip% / 100) | Total = Bill + Tip | Per person = Total / People
Multiply the bill by the tip percentage to get the tip. Add tip to the bill for the total. Divide by the number of people for each person's share.
Worked example
Bill ₹2,400. 15% tip. 4 people.
- Tip = 2,400 × 0.15 = ₹360.
- Total = 2,400 + 360 = ₹2,760.
- Per person = 2,760 / 4 = ₹690.
✓ Each person pays ₹690 (including ₹90 tip each).
