How do I calculate a percentage increase?

Subtract the old value from the new, divide by the old, and multiply by 100. E.g., price rose from ₹100 to ₹120: (120−100)/100 × 100 = 20% increase.

What is the difference between percentage point and percent change?

A percentage point is an absolute difference between two percentages. A percent change is relative. If interest rises from 5% to 7%, that's a 2 percentage point rise, but a 40% relative increase.
