The formula
Age calculation
Age = Target Date − Date of Birth
The difference between two dates, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years, expressed in years, months, and days.
Worked example
DOB: 15 March 1995; Target date: 15 June 2025.
- Years = 2025 − 1995 = 30.
- Months from March to June = 3.
- Days = 0 (same day of month).
✓ Age = 30 years, 3 months, 0 days.
